| The Cardiology Research Group encompasses a broad spectrum of research activity including laboratory, bedside and
population-based studies. Particular expertise exists in cardiac imaging (Nuclear, Magnetic and Positron Emission),
and recruitment to randomised controlled trials of pharmacological therapy across a range of cardiac conditions. |

Those interested in pursuing a period of research with the CRG (as a medical or science undergraduate, for an MD
or PhD, or less formal periods of research training) should write to Dr
Graham Hillis to discuss further. Although the cardiology research group is not anticipating increasing its
research active staff in the near future, within the faculty of Medicine there are possibilities of collaboration
with many other units. The University has a particularly strong basic science expertise, and expertise in health
services research. |
