Appointments: NHS Grampian Chair of Primary Care; Director of Institute of Applied Health Sciences, University of Aberdeen; Head of Division of Applied Health Sciences, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Aberdeen; Guardian of RCGP Oral Contraception Study.

Research Interests: Reproductive health including the effects of oral contraception and hormone replacement therapy; primary care epidemiology; pharmacovigilance; long term natural history studies of symptoms; cardiovascular disease.

Teaching Interests: Demonstrating the relevance of epidemiology to health care provision.

Other Interests: Board Member North East Faculty Royal College of General Practitioners.
