Why study in Finance at Aberdeen
Our programmes are taught by specialist staff drawn from the fields of Finance, Accountancy, Economics and Management. Members of the teaching team are internationally regarded academics in their own field of expertise. Our programme is specifically designed for graduates intending to embark on a career in the area of finance and addresses the increasing need for financial players to be equipped with a strong foundation in the priciples and practise of finance as well as having understianding of the analytical tools required to make appropriate financial decisions. This is particularly important given on-going complex developments in the structure of the global financial invironment.
Graduates will be able to build global connections through our international student base and Alumini network. As a member of the Association of Business Schools (ABS) the School has access to expert advice and up to date information on developments in Business and Management to help improve the quality of our programmes.
Careers
Our programmes prepare graduates for careers in areas such as:
- Investment, commercial and retail banking;
- Investment management;
- Capitial markets;
- Corporate finance and planning;
- Regulatory bodies;
- Any specialism requiring an in-depth understanding of finance.
In addition, a small but significant number of our graduates have since embarked upon PhD research degrees.
