How to Apply
Entry Criteria
The minimum requirements for our taught postgraduate programmes are a good first degree (equivalent to a British second class Honours degree, a 4 year University degree). The Director of Graduate Programmes will consider applicants with non-standard qualifications, particularly those with considerable practitioner experience. Evidence of English Language Proficiency is also required. Please note, that the International Business programmes require a higher level of academic qualification.

APPLICATION DEADLINES:
For September intakes:
International Students should apply with all supporting documents no later than 30 June each year.
EU/UK students can apply later, preferably no later than 31 August.
For January (MBA, MBA HRM and MBA Marketing only)
All applicants should apply with supporting documents no later than 31 October.
If your application is not supported by at the least a transcript and CV, we may not be able to consider it for the next available intake. Please ensure all your supporting documents are with your application when it is submitted. This will greatly speed up the response to your application.
English proficiency
If your first language is not English, you will need to satisfy the Graduate Business School and the University that your proficiency in English is sufficient for your studies at the University of Aberdeen. The following qualifications are acceptable as providing evidence of proficiency for Graduate programmes in Business. Tests should be taken within two years of applying to the University of Aberdeen for entry:
Direct entry
- IELTS Band 6.5 or above and 6 in the writing and reading components, with 5.5 or above in other elements.
- TOEFL iBT 90 or above ovreall, including Speaking 23 or above, Reading 22 or above, and Writing and Listening 21 or above
- PTE Academic
62 or above overall, with 54 or above in Reading and Writing, and 51 or above in Listening and Speaking.
- Applicants who do not meet the above, may be offered entry on the condition that they undertake a further English Language Course at the University of Aberdeen.
Pre-sessional course entry
You are encouraged to apply for the four-week presessional course at the Language Centre if you have the above minimum level of English. Information can be found at www.abdn.ac.uk/languagecentre
Applying

In addition to a completed application form, we require the following:
- A copy of your undergraduate transcript and degree certificate (translated into English if applicable).
- at least one academic reference.
- proof of English proficiency.
- If you are giving information on work experience, we ask that you send a full cv and detailed work references, outlining your current duties and responsibilities.
You should send your application form complete with all supporting documentation directly to the Postgraduate Admissions office. The address is given on the application form.
Fees
The University reviews the fee structure for all taught postgraduate programmes annually. Up to date information on he costs of studying at the University of Aberdeen can be obtained from the University's webpages.
Students who accept an offer of a place on our International Real Estate Markets programme will be expected to pay for travel, accommodation and academic fees for their studies overseas during the summer semester. This time overseas is a prerequisite for gaining the qualification.
Deposit scheme
Students who accept an offer of a place will be asked to pay a deposit (approximately 10% of the total programme fee) to secure their place. This deposit is later deducted from the tuition fees payable at registration. See www.abdn.ac.uk/documents/deposits-faq.doc for further details.
