Working with the Vice Principal for External Affairs, the Corporate & Strategic Partnerships Team facilitates, develops and manages partnerships between the University of Aberdeen and key external organisations. These include Higher Education Institutions, Government and industry both nationally and internationally.
The team aims to position Aberdeen as the “partner of choice” with major regional, national and international organisations. Promoting Aberdeen as a leader in the formation of corporate and strategic partnerships in line with the Universities Strategic Plan and pursue “gold standard” relations with strategic benefits.
We actively engage with industry through specific opportunities such as Offshore Europe and the Oil & Gas industry leadership group to develop strong working relationships.
The team have built a strong strategic relationship with key UK government organisations. For example, Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), British Council, Scottish Government, Scottish Development International (SDI), Scottish Funding Council. By participating in their strategic missions and events the team have created and strengthened the Universities partnerships worldwide.
Recent projects cover: South America (Brazil, Colombia and Mexico), Africa (Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda and Ghana), Asia (China including Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan?), Canada and Russia.
Oil and Gas companies involved in recent projects include: Halliburton, PEMEX, Colombia National Oil Company, Petrobras and Petroluem Institute of East Africa (PIEA).
The Team strategically engage with regional government and industry to support the University’s participation in public, cultural and city engagement activities. The aim is to position the University as a key player in the development of the local, national and international community.
The team has been involved in an array of activities for example, Halliburton Women in Leadership event, May Festival and Aberdeen International Youth Festival.
The University of Aberdeen is part of the Santander Universities network, an international group of universities with three similar goals in common: internationalisation, transfer of knowledge, and fostering of entrepreneurial skills.
