... on the fourth, as she was when she rejoiced at her son's resurrection; on the fifth, as she was when, joyfully, she was received in heaven, placed on the right hand of God and crowned and made queen of heaven, earth and hell, and of all things there.

Litany, Missus est angelus.



A litany addressed to the Virgin Mary. The author invokes five times the words of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin: 'Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee' (Luke, 1:28). He invokes the Virgin in 52 phrases, with the response: 'The Lord is with thee'.
