Devotions to the Virgin Mary, continued.

Hymn, Ave mater salvatoris.

A hymn to the Virgin Mary. The author hails her as the mother of the saviour, bearer of the world, vessel of modesty, made fruitful by God the father, the temple of God, an example to all etc. He invites her to rejoice, as the mother of Christ, who was also her father; as a field filled with flowers, moistened by spiritual dew; as the star who bore a sun, having as her child the king of heaven etc.
