... the author asks them to seek the salvation of his body and soul. He asks that through their prayers the spirit of God may cleanse his heart of vice and enlighten it with virtue; that it may make him persevere in the love of God and of his neighbour; and that, at the end of his life, the Holy Spirit may lead him to rejoice with the elect.
