Prayer, Deus qui in, continued.

Burnet Psalter image. Aberdeen University Library 1998.

Ihesu in futura gloria saciari. Per eundem Ihesum Christum dominum.\

Prayer, In te Ihesum.

A prayer to Jesus Christ, in whose name we will discomfit our enemies and spurn those who rise against us. Christ's spirit will lead the author to a righteous land; Christ will restore him to life so that he may fear and love Christ's name. The author asks Christ to protect us from the sadness of death.

In te Ihesu inimicos nostros ventilabimus cornu et in nomine tuo, Ihesu spernemus insurgentes in nobis.\ Exurge domine, Ihesu adiuva nos. Et libera nos\ propter nomen tuum Ihesum. Spiritus tuus deducet me in terram\ rectam propter nomen tuum domine Ihesu vivificabis\ me in equitate tua, ut timeam et diligam\ nomen tuum Ihesum. Te laudamus et rogamus\ dulcis Ihesu Christe rex ut intendas et defendas nos\ a morte tristi.\

Prayer, Deus qui gloriosissimum.

A prayer to God (see MR, 2, p334), who made his son's name sweet to the faithful, fearful to evil spirits, asking that those who venerate it may enjoy eternal joy.

Deus qui gloriosissimum nomen Ihesum\ dulcissimi filii tui fecisti fidelibus sum\mo suavitatis affectu amabile et malignis\ spiritibus tremendis [tremendum] atque terribile concede propi\cius ut omnes qui hoc nomen Ihesum devote vene\rantur in terris sancte consolacionis tue dulcedi\nem in presenti percipiant et in futuro gaudium\
