Prayer, Adoro te domine.

A prayer to Jesus Christ. The author invokes Christ's words to his disciples on the Mount of Olives: 'Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation' (Matthew, 26:41); and his prayer to God, as his sweat fell like drops of blood to the ground: 'Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt' (Luke, 22:44; Matthew, 26:39). She prays to Christ as her redeemer and her bridegroom.
