The calendar, litanies and liturgical texts in the Burnet Psalter are described
and identified by James (see The Contents and their
Arrangement). They correspond in form to those generally found in fifteenth-century
psalters and books of hours, although the Hours of the Compassion of the
Virgin, the Hours in commemoration
of the Guardian Angel and the Devotions
in honour of the passion of Jesus Christ are less common. |
