Visit the Cruickshank Botanic Garden

The Botanic Garden is free to enter and located in Old Aberdeen, approximately three miles from Aberdeen city centre. The main entrance is off The Chanonry on the west side, close to St Machar's Cathedral.

Opening Times

  • October – March:   Daily between 09:00 – 16:30
  • April – September:  Daily between 09:00 – 19:00

Christmas closure:  24th December - 5th January

Getting here

Bus numbers 1, 2, 13, and 40 along King St (get off at St Machar Drive)

Bus numbers 14 & 20 (get off at High Street)

Bus 19 (get off at Tillydrone Avenue)

Accessibility and facilities

Due to safety procedures, for the time being there are no public toilets available in the Garden. Across St Machar Drive in The Hub there are toilets and a coffee shop (number 5 on Parking map).

  • Mon – Sat 8:30am - 8:30pm
  • Sunday 11:00am - 4:00pm

Outwith Term time
(2 April 2022 - 11 September 2022)

  • Mon – Fri 8:30am - 5:30pm
  • Sat & Sunday Closed

Please note that the Sunken Garden, The Arboretum, and parts of the Rock Garden are NOT accessible by wheelchair.

Parking

On-street parking is limited but some may be available near the St Machar Cathedral (200m) or on Tillydrone Avenue (500m). At weekends only, parking is available in University car parks on Tillydrone Avenue, outside the Zoology Building (1), on Dunbar Street, outside the Taylor Building (20), or outside the MacRobert Building (17). Weekend entry is via the Chanonry entrance.
