Biography

I am currently a Teaching Fellow based in the Zoology Department with a focus on teaching marine biology.

Prior to becoming a teaching fellow I was a post doctoral researcher on the ECOMAR project, based at Oceanlab.  My research was focused on deep-sea demersal fish and also the scavenging fauna attracted to baited photographic landers.  I completed my PhD thesis in 2006 on how environmental factors influence the abundance, distribution and species composition of deep-sea fish in the North Atlantic and Southern Indian oceans using a baited photographic lander (ROBIO). My work was part of the international Census of Marine Life, MAR-ECO, and HERMES research programmes.
