Current Research
My main focus is the development of a soil methane flux model for the JULES (Joint UK Land Environment Simulator) and ECOSSE (Estimating Carbon in Organic Soils - Sequestration and Emissions) models. I am also using the ECOSSE model to simulate climate change impacts on soil carbon stocks in England and Wales and am developing a growth-dependent mortality model for Scots pine and birch in the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve.
