Career Preparation

In addition to skills relevant to your chosen speciality, we aim to provide students with core- and transferable skills that are highly regarded by employers and regularly reviewed by an active employer-liaison committee.

The University has strong links with local research organisations such as the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute, the Fisheries Research Services Laboratory and the Rowett Research Institute. These links regularly lead to guest lecturers, project opportunities and work experience that exposes students to a wide range of potential employers.

We are proud to see our graduates entering such a wide range of jobs, with many holding key positions in government research organisations, environmental charities, media and the arts.

Examples of graduate career paths are provided on our Graduate Careers page.
