Camtasia Relay Lecture Capture Service
This page explains how you can record lectures and make them available to students on the web
What is Camtasia Relay?
- Camtasia Relay is a screen recording software solution from TechSmith.
- Anything on the computer screen will be recorded (full screen) along with the presenter’s voice combining to produce a video file.
- Staff can record lectures, meetings, training sessions, and more with just 3 clicks.
- Once recorded, the files are viewable through the University’s web streaming server.
How Does it Work?
- Users’ record their presentations from a Camtasia enabled PC and submit the file when they are finished.
- The file is then sent to the Camtasia Relay Server and automatically published to the streaming media server.
- The user will receive an email to confirm that the presentation has recorded successfully and this will contain a hyperlink to the file which can be published on the MyAberdeen VLE.
- The recording can be streamed or downloaded as an MPEG4 video file.
