The Penelopes – ‘Now Now Now (Now Now Now)’

‘Now Now Now (Now Now Now)’ – that’s right, 6 Now’s – is the debut UK single from the Parisian double act; The Penelopes – or tHe pEneLOpe[s]. The Penelopes are made up of two lifelong friends, Axel Basquiat and Vincent T. The pair take musical influences from a wide range of artists such as American DJ, Felix Da Housecat to, from their youth, such British bands as New Order to create a unique Indie-Dance sound.

For this record they have recruited vocals from Laura Kitt to create a wonderfully soothing melody over electric bass, guitar and keyboard. The track has a certain Frenchness about it, which is incredibly pleasant and youthful. This is definitely one of those tracks for your summer playlist. It is obvious, after a couple of plays, that a lot of time and effort has been spent in creating and perfecting this track which will have you pressing repeat in no time.

The track was released earlier this month – 11th of November – with the debut UK album to follow, which is being produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat who has previously worked with such acts Scissor Sisters, The Vaccines and even Ke$ha. Expect something special.
