The Baikal-Hokkaido Archaeology Project (BHAP)
This project consists of an international and multi-disciplinary group of scholars with expertise in archaeology, physical anthropology, ethnography, molecular biology, geophysics, geochemistry and environmental reconstructions. The goal is to undertake a comprehensive investigation of prehistoric hunter-gatherer life-ways in Northeast Asia, focusing on Lake Baikal and Hokkaido. As a member of the Research Team, my role is to coordinate ceramic analyses and generate a critical synthesis of hunter-gatherer prehistory in Holocene Northeast Asia (Project funded by SSHRC).
