Cultural Landscapes in Northern Eurasia

Cultural Landscapes in Northern Eurasia

Dr. Peter Jordan

This project examined variability in sacred landscape geography across Northern Eurasia. Bringing together case-studies of the hunting, fishing and reindeer herding communities that inhabit a broad northern arc stretching from Fennoscandia, through Siberia, and into the Russian Far East, the book encourages increased international collaboration between archaeologists, ethnographers and historians, and open new directions for archaeological investigation of spirituality and northern landscape traditions.
