Who are we?
We are your anthropology society and we are dedicated to extending the metaphorical hand to everyone that is interesting anthropology! We are a student run society that organises and hosts both social and academic events throughout the year. We welcome students, lecturers and anyone else within the wider community that is interested in the subject and would like to get to know likewise minded people. Although we are run by a dedicated committee, we are always open to ideas from any of our members and are always on the look out for more people to become involved with the planning side of things!
Past events:
- We were awarded over £700 from the student association to take 10 members to London for 4 days, which was packed with both anthropological activities and also gave our members a chance to get to know each other.
- Went on a trip to archeolink, which is pre-history park in Aberdeenshire.
- A number of different nights out to various pubs and clubs in Aberdeen, including going to see local comedy
- We have held a number of film nights within the university campus, showing anthropological elated films.
- Each year we hold a welcome ceremony, which gives new (and old!) members a chance to get to know one another and learn about different cultures.
- We have organised for lecturers to come and give talks to the society, as well as co-ordinating with Edinburgh Anthropology society during these events.
