Alumni are invited to joining us at this business networking event and talk. Ian Phillips, Chief Executive of OGIC – the Oil and Gas Innovation Centre, will discuss the way in which research, development and innovation is supported and funded in the UK – with a particular emphasis on the oil and gas sector. He will outline the role of the Research Councils, Innovate UK; the Scottish agencies and commercial sources (e.g. ITF and oil companies) in funding this activity. He will also explore the remarkable technical capabilities in the Government-backed Catapult Centres, with a particular focus on how oil and gas supply chain companies can access this capability. Finally he will discuss early stage support available to new-start technology companies as they seek to grow.
There will be a networking session following the talk providing alumni with a great opportunity to make connections.
