Library
Aberdeen University Library is as old as the University itself. It represents a unique resource for teaching, research and scholarship. The Library operates an 'open door' policy whereby the riches of its collections are available for consultation to members of the general public.
Aberdeen graduates can join the library for an annual fee of £20 plus £30 deposit.
Graduates also have the opportunity to join 'The Friends of Aberdeen University Library' a registered charity founded in 1962 which aims to encourage the gift of books, prints, manuscripts and other items of interest to the Library and donations of funds, and help the Library buy special books, manuscripts and other items of interest.
As the flagship project of the second phase of our Sixth Century Campaign, the University is committed to creating a £57 million library. The project will be the largest capital fundraising project undertaken to date by the University, offering unique opportunities for individuals and organisations to contribute to an iconic intellectual and cultural facility for both the University community and for scholars and the wider public throughout the world.
