Stonehaven Golf Club lies on the Braes
of Cowie, overlooking Stonehaven Town, some 15 miles south of Aberdeen.
It was founded in 1888, and the first clubhouse opened the following year.
The original chimney stack can still be seen on the 15th tee. Though the
course is short (par 66, 5103 yards), it sets a testing challenge for
all standards of golfer. The course also provides magnificant views across
Stonehaven Bay, where cetaceans are seen regularly, to Dunnottar Castle.
