The Aberdeenshire Dolphin Project is a joint venture between the University of Aberdeen and The Sea Watch Foundation. The aim of the project is to monitor the abundance, distribution, and behaviour of cetaceans seen along the Aberdeenshire coastline.

The project will take place over 3 years, starting in October 2002, and is sponsored by Kerr McGee, Talisman Energy (UK) Limited and TOTAL E&P UK PLC.
