The Catalan Agency for Health Technology Assessment (CAHTA) is a not-for-profit public company, affiliated to the Catalan Health Service. Its mission is to support decision-making so that the introduction, adoption, diffusion and utilisation of health technologies (HT) is undertaken in accordance with proven criteria of efficacy, safety, effectiveness and efficiency. The term HT encompasses all types of equipment, devices, drugs, and procedures, whether preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic or rehabilitative, used in health care.
