I.N.R.C.A. (Istituto Nazionale di Ricovero e Cura per Anziani) is one of 30 Italian institutes entrusted by the Italian Ministry of Health with the task of carrying out both care and research on health issues on a national basis. I.N.R.C.A.’s specific institutional aims are the clinical care of the elderly and research in the field of ageing related issues. These tasks are carried out through its nine centres (i.e. geriatric hospitals or nursing homes) spread throughout the country as well as the interdisciplinary Gerontological Research Department (GRD) located in Ancona (main seat of the institute). These features make I.N.R.C.A. the ideal partner to evaluate the ACMEplus system in elderly Italian patients.
