Choosing Accommodation

Starting university and becoming involved in academic life is an exciting experience.

It is a real opportunity to meet new people, make great friends and, for some of you, have your first taste of living independently. Whilst these are exciting times, we do understand that you might feel a little apprehensive about leaving what you know and finding a new place to live.

In order to make this process as smooth and enjoyable as possible, our Student Accommodation Office has a team of experienced staff who are here to help you with all the formalities involved.

This website will take you through the various accommodation options, with detailed information in each section.

It will outline the choices you have, from catered accommodation, where meals are provided, to self-catering flats.
Do you enjoy cooking and don't like to stick to set meal times? Then a self catered option of accommodation could be for you.
Do you want to have your meals cooked for you and not to have to budget for food? Then maybe a catered option would suit you better.

University of Aberdeen accommodation is split between the Old Aberdeen campus and the Hillhead site.

Whatever your decision, friendly and helpful staff are available at all of our accommodation throughout the year to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Hillhead Refurbishment

As part of our continued investment in our commitment to improving the student experience, we are now beginning the next phase of our refurbishment plan for Hillhead Student Village. By Summer 2013 we will have begun a major refurbishment of Hector Boece Court.

There will be times that there will noise disruption and we understand how inconvenient it will be, at times, for people who live and walk in the vicinity of the construction zone. To that end, Accommodation staff will work directly with the contractor throughout the project and keep us all informed about the progress of work and alerted to upcoming activity and disruptions that affect residents helping to minimise the negative impacts of having a construction site in our neighbourhood.

The patience and understanding of all who live in and walk through the Hillhead Student Village will be appreciated. For more information on the refurbishment please visit the relevant section of this website.

RETURNING STUDENTS

Unfortunately we will not be able to offer University accommodation to returning students for Session 2013-14.
