Worship

King’s College Chapel is the heritage of every person in the whole University community. Standing at the centre King’s College Campus, the Chapel serves as a constant reminder of the University’s foundations (1495).  Its architecture recalls the University’s history from its ancient past with pre-reformation furnishings to the recent Aubertin Organ installed in 2004.  Hence, it brings together at once old and very new.

Kings offers a treasured setting of history for local school children, and not least a beautiful venue for late night concerts, quiet times, prayer services and for alumni to marry. King’s is open every weekday offering holy space for contemplation, morning prayers as well as a range of services.  During the academic term we hold Sunday Worship at 11.00am and there is a Roman Catholic Sunday evening Mass at 6.30pm.

King’s welcomes new visitors each week. Many who may be members of other churches dip in and out of Kings on occasion, and each Sunday is slightly different.  The University Chapel Service at 11.00am each Sunday during term serves to provide prophetic inspiration.   Different guest preachers proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through many different voices, experiences, and expertise.   Also, our wonderful Chapel Choir uplifts every morning service with beautiful and professional praise.

Please collect our newsletter and brochure will tell you a bit about the chaplaincy and the fascinating guest preachers who will bless our services in the autumn term with words of wisdom, compassion and faith.
