Mr Steve Cannon
The Secretary to the University is head of the University's administration, and works closely with the Principal and other senior members of academic and administrative staff to achieve the efficient and effective management of the institution. The Secretary is the principal officer of University Court and is responsible for ensuring that it acts within its powers and procedures.
Steve Cannon was appointed Secretary to the University in 1998 having been previously Director of Finance and Strategic Corporate Affairs for the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council. Prior to that he worked at the Universities of Warwick and Dundee. He is on the Board of UCAS and is on the steering groups for the Delivery Partnership, Enhancing Learning and Research in Humanitarian Assistance initiative and the OECD Institutional Management in Higher Education programme. He is a member of Universities Scotland’s International Committee.
