Professor Neva Haites OBE
Professor Neva Haites is Head of the University’s largest College. Life Sciences and Medicine is structured into five academic schools: Biological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Medicine and Dentistry, Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health and Psychology. She is currently Professor of Medical Genetics and is an Honorary Consultant Clinical Geneticist and a member of NHS Grampian Board.
Professor Haites is a member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, of the Chief Scientist Committee of the Scottish Government and is Chair of the Biomedical and Therapeutics Research Committee.
Neva Haites was born in Brisbane and studied biochemistry at the University of Queensland and then moved to Aberdeen where she did her medical degree and training.
