Institute of Dentistry

Institute of Dentistry

Housed in a purpose-built facility, the Institute of Dentistry is located on the Foresterhill site alongside two other dental facilities; the Aberdeen Dental Education Centre, a postgraduate dental training centre with associated outreach clinics, and Argyll House, which hosts dental surgeries for NHS Grampian’s dental service.

The Institute of Dentistry houses both academic and dental care facilities which cover subjects including:

  • Restorative Dentistry
  • Holistic Patient Care
  • Orthodontics
  • Paediatric Dentistry
  • Special Needs
  • Oral Surgery
  • Radiology
  • Dental A&E

For more information visit the School of Medicine and Dentistry website.

The principal function of the Institute of Dentistry is dental education, with the first cohort of students graduating in 2012. However, the Institute of Dentistry also recognises the crucial role of research. More information about some of the exciting projects currently ongoing can be found via the Dental Research website.
