Professor Bryan MacGregor is Head of the College of Physical Sciences which includes the disciplines of Chemistry, Computing Science, Engineering, Geography and Environment, Geology and Petroleum Geology, Archaeology, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics.
Professor Bryan MacGregor has been MacRobert Professor of Land Economy at the University of Aberdeen since 1990, and a Vice-Principal since 2003. Before becoming Head of the College of Physical Sciences in September 2011, Professor MacGregor led the University's Curriculum Reform initiative and was responsible for a number of special projects including a review of the Transparent Approach to Costing and the strategy for fees for students from the Rest of the UK. From 2003-8, he was Head of the College of Arts and Social Sciences.
A Land Economist by discipline, Professor MacGregor’s academic career has included posts at the Universities of Reading and Glasgow. Prior to joining the University of Aberdeen he was Property Research Manager with Prudential Portfolio Managers. His main interest are in property space markets and their links to financial markets.
Bryan MacGregor was born in Inverness and educated at Inverness Royal Academy, the University of Edinburgh University, Heriot-Watt University, the University of Cambridge, the College of Estate Management, and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
